Template
The below is a community member's testimony. Feel free to use it, something of your own, or something as simple as as "I support LD 660, and "it ought to pass." To get other wording ideas, as online testimony is submitted for this bill, you can see it here: https://legislature.maine.gov/ctl/EDU/04-02-2025?panel=2&time=0&sortdir=0&sortby=2 after clicking on the bill number.
I support LD 660 “An Act to Provide Transparency and Public Access to Public School Curricula.”
This bill will among other things, place restrictions on the choice of academic class offerings and curriculum materials and on-site professional development programs. Certain provisions of this bill are designed to satisfy federal law related to parental access to information and protection of pupil's rights.
In the name of full transparency, each school’s curriculum and professional development programs MUST be accessible to all citizens, particularly parents. Otherwise, what are they trying to hide from us? Why the secrecy?
I support LD 660 and it “ought to pass.”
