This bill was voted on in committee, resulting in a "Divided Report."  A Majority Report (voted ought to pass) and a Minority Report (voted ought not to pass.)

Our emails to our Senators and Representatives must be short and to the point.  WE WANT TO SUPPORT THE MAJORITY REPORT, AND THIS MUST BE IN THE SUBJECT LINE!!

SUBJECT: Please support the bipartisan Majority Report (voted the bill "ought to pass"), for LD 252 “ An Act to Withdraw from the National Popular Vote Compact ."

Good morning, Senator/Representative [name],

I urge you to stand with the bipartisan Majority Report on LD 252:  “An Act to Withdraw from the National Popular Vote Compact. "

Maine has had a fair and equitable system of distributing our four electoral votes since 1972.  This system allows our vastly rural state to have a say in the Presidential election.

This National Popular Vote compact dilutes our state’s say in determining a President, as larger urban population centers will determine a President, and our four electoral votes will be cast accordingly.

Please oppose the Minority Report and it “ought not to pass.”

Thank you.
