The below is a community member's testimony.  Feel free to use it, something of your own, or something as simple as as  "I support LDs 253, 682, 886, 887, 975, and 1007 and they "ought to pass."  To get other wording ideas, as online testimony is submitted for this bill, you can see it here: https://legislature.maine.gov/ctl/JUD/03-28-2025?panel=0&time=0&sortdir=0&sortby=2 after clicking on the bill number.

I support LD 253, LD 682, LD 886, LD 887, LD 975, and LD 1007 concerning abortions in Maine.

These bills, once law, will impose a number of controls on abortions here in Maine.  These include prohibiting Mainecare from paying for abortions, regulating what appears to be an unregulated procedure using abortion drugs, disposal of biohazard waste, requiring licensed health care professionals to be present for abortions, changing the standard for when an abortion may be performed after viability, and ultimately, repealing the laws authorizing abortion to include criminalizing abortion in Maine.

I support LD 253, LD 682, LD 886, LD 887, LD 975, and LD 1007 and they “ought to pass.”
