The below is a community member's testimony.  Feel free to use it, something of your own (recommended), or something as simple as as  "I oppose LD 1457, and it "ought not to pass." To get other wording ideas, as online testimony is submitted for this bill, you can see it here: https://legislature.maine.gov/ctl/TRA/04-23-2025?panel=3&time=0&sortdir=0&sortby=2 after clicking on the bill number.

I oppose LD 1457 “Resolve, to Allow the Maine Turnpike Authority to Conduct a Pilot Program to Implement Automated Speed Control Systems in Highway Work Zones.”

More ways to control our every move and every thought? Think of all the things they could do with more 24 x 7 monitoring devices.

Currently, Maine already uses license plate tracking cameras to assist in criminal investigations, among other “safety” purposes. Although they are currently not permitted to be used to enforce speed limits, this resolution appears to be a step towards a dramatic expansion of digital enforcement.

More “big brother” oversight.

How about curbing reckless spending vs nanny cams to generate more revenue?

I oppose LD 1457, and it “ought not to pass.”
